Who is responsible for the personal data collected on this website?

What personal data do we collect?
Information we collect directly from you
This is the personal data you provide us when using our website and services. For example, when you fill in an application form to attend GES or when you sign up to receive a newsletter. This type of information may your name, e-mail address, LinkedIn profile and other personally identifiable content you additionally choose to submit to our website.
If you have given your consent to us, we will process your personal data on the basis of this consent. If you fill in an application form to attend GES, the processing of personal data is necessary to perform the contract between us and to enable you to attend GES. If you do not provide the necessary personal data you will not be able fill in the application and attend GES.
How do we use this personal data?
We collect your personal data to provide you with the required services or information. The following are examples of how we may use the personal data we collect:
- Provide you with services that you request from us;
- Anticipate and resolve problems with any services supplied to you;
- Communicate regularly with you to inform you about GES and provide you with other information that may be of interest to you;
- Prevent illegal activities, suspected fraud and potential threats to our network;
- Assist in the prevention and investigation of illegal activities and violations of our terms and conditions.
Will we share your personal data with other parties?
After obtaining your prior explicit consent we will share your personal data with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (hereinafter: “The Ministry”).
We may also disclose your personal data:
- If we are legally entitled or required to do so (for example, if required to do so by legal proceedings or for the purposes of detection and prevention of fraud and other crime or as part of a security audit).
- To any other third party with your prior consent to do so.

How do we protect the personal data?
The collection, use and disclosure of personal data collected through our website is safeguarded by technological and organisational security measures with the objective to protect the personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction.
